Johnho Pak, President of the Korean-Russian Business Council, visited REC REP
On May 31, 2019, in the realm of international cooperation, Johnho Pak, President of the Korean-Russian Business Council, visited the site of the Regional Engineering Centre for Radio-Electronic Production (Saint Petersburg Technopark JSC).
After familiarisation with the physical infrastructure, a meeting was held at REC REP. It covered the issues of the mutual transfer of technologies between Russia and South Korea in the field of micro-electronics and radio-electronics; the possibility of localizing joint production in Russia; as well as the interaction and exchange of competencies in the sphere of radio-electronics and instrumentation.
The South Korean side revealed interest in the solutions demonstrated by representatives of the Mashtab Scientific Research Institute and REC SafeNet at the REC REP site and proposed options for further joint participation in their development by signing a cooperation agreement with Saint Petersburg Technopark JSC.
Johnho Pak noted that there are over 100,000 innovative companies in the South Korean province of Gyeonggi-do that could be potential partners, and the interaction between them and Russian enterprises is now becoming systematic and sustainable. St. Petersburg Technopark can occupy an important niche in this interaction and is capable of becoming a global system integrator of enterprises operating in the micro-electronics and radio-electronics industry in the region, as a key provider of solutions for a large number of South Korean companies.
